RE: MAINTENANCE SHIFT PROPOSALS

September 23, 2015

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We have been presented with three shift proposals:

A 5×2 shift structure.

A 6×3, 4×3 assortment.

A 4×4, 4×3, and 5×2 combination that was remarkably similar to the most recent proposal that was rejected by a large contingent of our membership. There is no significant change other than an additional 5×2 lines.

The 4×4, 4×3, and 5×2 combination proposal had two incentives included, both have been deemed unacceptable. One blatantly contravened the Collective Agreement, and the other has no perceived value.

After carefully reviewing and much deliberation among the District General Chairperson, Shop Committee and Shift Committee members and to maintain the integrity of the process, we have decided not to entertain these offers.

Please, feel free to direct comments or questions to the Shop Committee, a Shift Committee member or one of our Shop Stewards.

Throughout these challenging times of uncertainty we are proud to represent you. Your support is appreciated and more important than ever.

In solidarity,

David Freeman
Shop Committee Chairman

Joe Veltri
Shop Committee

Gary Sinclair
General Chairperson – Maintenance

Shift Committee:
Dave Bartholomew, Dan Adams, Rob Laflamme, James Lundy, Walter Rohrer
