TO ALL IAM MEMBERS

AIR CANADA – ARBITRATION REMEDY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING PORTION OF THE OFF DUTY STATUS (ODS) GRIEVANCE

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are pleased to inform you that the final portion of the Off Duty Status (ODS) grievance has been addressed at Arbitration, and a ruling has been made. After a long and challenging process, the Arbitrator has issued a remedy award, bringing this matter to a resolution.

This grievance arose from the Company’s violation of our members’ rights under Article 16 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Arbitrator’s decision provides restitution for these violations. As part of the ruling, the Company has been ordered to compile the necessary details of the affected members and process the payments no later than March 17, 2025.

We understand that some questions may arise from this award, and we want to assure you that the Union is fully committed to getting any necessary clarifications. We will provide updates as they become available and continue to push for the smooth implementation of the Arbitrator’s decision. The full Arbitration ruling is attached below and will also be accessible on the District 140 and Local Union websites.

Your patience, support, and solidarity throughout this lengthy process have been instrumental in achieving this outcome. This has truly been a collective effort, and your dedication to standing together has made all the difference.

If you have any questions or need further information, please reach out to your General Chairpersons or Shop Committee Representatives.
