Brothers, Sisters, and Siblings,
Following the rejection of the tentative agreement, your Bargaining Committee returned to the table and pushed for the changes and improvements our members demanded.
After the federal mediators called the parties back together, the Union met with the Company on July 9 and again today, July 10, to continue negotiations. After numerous exchanges, the Company has presented the Union with what it has described as its last, best and final offer.
The following improvements have been achieved:
- Unused Sick Day payouts
- Physiotherapy benefit Cap Removal (returned to previous unlimited)
- Vacation Purchase Program
- Renewed and improved language for Cat 1, 19, & 38 pathways to AME 6 & 7
- Established AME committee to review and update Letter of Understanding #9
- Any AME in a classification/function other than Category 1, 19, 38, wishing to pursue AME 6 and AME 7 wages, have the option to return to their former category
Your Bargaining Committee will be providing members with the full details of the offer, along with information regarding the upcoming votes, which will consist of a vote on the Company’s final offer and a strike vote, next week.
Please make sure you are registered. Members who are not registered will not be able to vote. Registration closes Monday, July 13 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
