Dear Brothers, Sisters and Siblings,
Starting earlier this morning, it became apparent that there was issues with some TMOS members receiving their ballots.
We have been made aware that some individuals have fraudulently voted using multiple email addresses. Their choice to do this challenges the integrity of the voting process and because of this – we will be ending the electronic vote through Simply Voting and will be holding in person votes next week.
This fraudulent behavior appears to be only in Toronto and only affects the TMOS group.
Throughout this week we have also heard from our members that some feel they need more time to review the package before rendering their vote. This will give members additional time to review.
Please note that all information sessions will continue as planned.
For those that have already voted and those that like the flexibility of the electronic vote, we are truly sorry that we had to make this decision. We need to ensure the integrity of the vote remains beyond question and that every member has confidence in the process.
Details will be released today from your Local on polling dates, hours and locations.
In Solidarity,
IAM Union District 140 Bargaining Committee
