ALL FORMER AVEOS EMPLOYEES
-LAST CHANCE TO APPLY FOR PAYMENT UNDER THE WAGE EARNER PROTECTION PROGRAM (WEPP)
FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2014
As set out in the Notices sent out in November by Aveos’ Trustee in Bankruptcy, and in the Union’s Bulletin 097 dated November 27, 2013, the deadline for filing your individual application to the Wage Earner Protection Program (WEPP) is this FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2014.
The WEPP is a government program that will pay out some of the money owed to former employees by Aveos.
The application for the WEPP can be filled out online on Service Canada’s website, at the following internet address:
http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/wepp/apply/how.shtml
More details on how to fill out the application are set out in Bulletin 097.
The WEPP requires applications to be filed by the January 17, 2014 deadline “unless circumstances beyond the control of the applicant necessitate a longer period”.
Any individuals filing an application after this deadline will need to fill in the section of the form explaining the circumstances beyond their control that caused the delay.
