TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
DISTRICT 140 LOW COST CARRIER
(ACrouge – AC Express)
STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
The District Lodge Low Cost carrier (ACrouge) Committee met with Air Canada Labour Relations on April 10, 2014 in Toronto. The company has supplied us with a breakdown of the regional and Rouge flying across the system. This further assists the Committee in understanding the affect that these service level agreements will have on our membership from St. John’s to Vancouver.
The company confirmed that Air Georgian will be doing trans-border flying using CRJ 100 and 200 aircraft into Raleigh Durham, Nashville, etc. They do not fly point to point in Canada at this time.
The company has also stated that they expect the Rouge network to grow to thirty–three (33) aircraft by the winter Schedule.
The Committee has taken this information in-house and we are in the process of creating scenarios that will allow us to project the affect that these carriers will have on our membership as we move forward.
To date we have discussed several options on this situation and will meet in-house and, with the company on May 7, 2014 in Toronto, to determine the avenue that we believe is the most beneficial to our membership.
In the meantime, we will continue to work on scenarios through video conferencing and conference calls.
We will advise the membership of any decision that we make as they occur. We thank you for your patience and support during this difficult time.
In solidarity,
Your LCC Steering Committee
