TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
GENERAL CHAIRPERSON ELECTION – CENTRAL REGION
AIR CANADA GENERAL CHAIRPERSON POSITION
*** RE-RUN ELECTION ***
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Further to Bulletin No. 70 informing you that following a vote recount overseen by a Grand Lodge Representative, it was disclosed that “fifteen (15) members who had cast votes for the Air Canada Designate position were not eligible to do so as they did not work for Air Canada”, as such, District Lodge 140 has declared a “RE-RUN ELECTION” in the Central Region for the Air Canada Designated General Chairperson position. This RE-RUN ELECTION will be held on: THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2016.
As this is a “RE-RUN ELECTION”, there will be NO new nominations accepted. The candidates on the November 12, 2015 previous ballot will remain on the “Re-Election” ballot.
The AIR CANADA Designate Candidates are:
• Paul Lefebvre
• Boyd Richardson
• Vick Seebalak
To avoid any confusion, District Lodge 140 Secretary-Treasurer will supply to the Local Lodge 2323 Recording-Secretary a “NEW” Ballot, printed on a different coloured paper.
The process for the Absentee Ballots for this “RE-RUN ELECTION” will be as follows:
• Absentee Ballots: will only be distributed to those who had originally requested for an absentee ballot in regards to the election dated November 12, 2015. (NO NEW ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED). Those members who have originally requested an Absentee Ballot (in regards to the November 12, 2015 election) will be issued one automatically by the Local Lodge 2323 Recording Secretary.
This “RE-RUN ELECTION” will be overseen by a Grand Lodge Representative who will be designated by the IAMAW Canadian Office.
In solidarity,
Alfredo Acrobati, Secretary-Treasurer
Transportation District 140,
