AIR CANADA MAINTENANCE (ACM)
YWG UPDATE
Brothers and Sisters:
IAM District 140 has been in discussions with ACM Senior Management for several
months regarding the possibility of additional work for “B Stations”. We are pleased
to report Air Canada has agreed to add Narrow Body Airbus A Checks into our YWG
Station.
This additional work will result in approximately twelve (12) recalls to YWG. The
checks will be planned overnights Monday – Thursday, with a work schedule of four (4)
days on and three (3) off. The work is expected to begin middle of the first quarter,
2018.
Air Canada recognized the value of utilizing and enhancing internal resources, something
our Members in Aircraft Maintenance have not seen in many years. It is refreshing.
We remain cautiously optimistic moving forward.
