STATUTORY HOLIDAY OVERTIME PAY
MEMBERS SCHEDULED TO WORK STATUTORY HOLIDAYS
Brothers and Sisters:
Air Canada has unilaterally eliminated overtime rates and capped the amount of
compensation at 12 hours for scheduled hours of work on Statutory Holidays.
The IAM does not agree with Air Canada’s revolutionary interpretation and
application of a “12 hour credit” for working on Statutory Holidays.
For this sacrifice, our Members should continue to be compensated at overtime rates.
A grievance has been filed to address this issue.
This application does not affect everyone. Some Members work shift lines that do not
receive additional compensation for working statutory holidays.
