RE: TEMPORARY RECALLS
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Air Canada informed the Union yesterday (June 3, 2020) that they intend to temporarily
recall employees per the current collective agreement for a duration of less than 60
days. Since receiving this news, the Union has been in intense discussions with
Labour Relations to not proceed with this type of recall.
The Union takes the position that these recalls should be of a permanent nature and
seniority should be respected. The Company rejected the Union’s position and
informed the Union this morning (June 4, 2020) that they are proceeding with
temporary recalls.
The Union is extremely displeased with the Company’s temporary recall procedures
they intend to implement, and we will continue to raise concerns being brought forward
by our members.
As more information becomes available, we will communicate with our members.
