EFAP Update – Third Party Counselling
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Tuesday morning of this week, I met with a representative of Homewood Human Solutions to go
over our agreement. This agreement allows all IAMAW members, of the Air Canada bargaining
unit, to access counselling at no out of pocket cost to the member. These services will
commence on July 1, 2020, and continue for the duration of the 2020 calendar year.
To utilize these services, you need to call Homewood Human Solutions, at 1-800-663-1142.
You will be asked what company you work for, inform them that you are a member of the
IAMAW at Air Canada and they will search for your name. Once they have established eligibility
your request will be forwarded to one Homewood’s therapists and you will be contacted by the
therapist directly.
Given the circumstances of COVID-19, all counselling will be telephonic or via a secure online
video conferencing platform. All counselling is 100% confidential, while still maintaining the legal
responsibilities of any type of professional counselling.
As mentioned in my previous bulletin, this will not affect our current EFAP structure. If you are
on lay-off status, however, and you have not opted to continue paying for your benefits
package, you will only have access to the EFAP portion of your counselling benefit.
If you have any questions concerning this or any other EFAP matter, please do not hesitate to
contact me, your regional coordinator or an EFAP rep.
In solidarity,
