TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
AIR CANADA
PENSION SEMINARS 2022
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The enactment of various provincial health restrictions designed to reduce the spread of the Covid-19
pandemic have prevented your IAMAW Air Canada Pension Committee from holding any in-person
pension seminars during most of 2020 and all of 2021.
The last in-person pension seminars were held in YYC and YEG in January 2020. Restrictions on the
size of indoor social gatherings and ever-changing requirements for attendance have precluded your
Pension Committee and District Lodge 140 from holding in-person pension seminars at any base
since the start of the Covid pandemic.
As we move into 2022, it is expected that the current provincial Covid restrictions across the country
will ease over the next couple of months. The Pension Committee will be working with all of our Air
Canada affiliated Local Lodges in the next few months to produce a schedule for in-person pension
seminars. Seminars will be scheduled for both the legacy Defined Benefit pension plan and the Multi-
employer Pension Plan (MEPP).
At this time, it is still not possible to confirm seminar dates for any Local Lodge or city. However,
members are asked to monitor their Local Lodge websites and bulletin boards as we move later into
the spring of 2022. Pension Seminar notices will be posted (typically one month in advance) in each
Local Lodge when we are able to schedule them.
When the pension seminar notices are posted, members who wish to attend will be asked to register
with their Local Lodges for the purposes of seminar attendance planning.
Your Pension Committee and District Lodge 140 would like to thank all of our members for your
patience and understanding with this situation.
In solidarity,
Christopher Hiscock
Chairman
Air Canada IAMAW Pension Committee
