NEGOTIATION UPDATE
TO ALL MEMBERS AT AOSS
Your negotiations team concluded several days of negotiations with the company. The company made an offer yesterday that was nowhere near our expectations.
• The company offered no raise. Only a token cash amount was offered.
• The company wants a cut in medical benefits or we they will be raising our insurance co-payment
Some items on our counter offer were:
• No agreement on any company demand
• A raise in wages
• Hold the line on insurance premiums and add glasses to the coverage
• Included paid sick day
This morning the company informed us that we were too far apart and could not continue negotiations.
Therefore we will be applying with the Ontario Labour Board for conciliation. This process involves the Labour Board officer in helping us through this tough negotiation.
