AIR CANADA EMERGENCY WET LEASE OF AIR TRANSAT AIRCRAFT -District 140 Bulletin

TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS

AIR CANADA

AIR CANADA EMERGENCY WET LEASE
OF AIR TRANSAT AIRCRAFT

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Following the events which took place recently involving the Boeing 737 MAX, Air
Canada was obliged to prepare a contingency plan to serve their passengers. This
included wet leases for two Air Transat Airbus 330-200 which in turn raised the
IAMAW’s concerns.

However, after several discussions, it has been confirmed to the IAMAW DL 140 that
we will be handling the BTW (below the wing) ground work (ramp and cabin) on the Air
Transat wet lease aircraft operating YUL-CUN on a daily basis as of April 1, 2019.

There may be deviations or special requirements to what our standards are when
servicing this aircraft. We ask that if there is any doubt to please reach out to your
training department, health and safety representative, or your manager.

We understand that our members were deeply concerned and hope that this
information will answer some of your questions.

Thank you for your understanding during this time. You will be kept up to date if further
information is received.

In Solidarity,

Vivian MacConville
General Chairperson –
Eastern Region
District 140, IAMAW

Guillaume Lingat
Acting General Chairperson –
