From the Daily:
For Canada-based employees: Are you planning to retire on or before October 1, 2012? If so, please submit your retirement application form ACF86 at the latest on July 15th to eservices to receive your retirement package within the usual delays (approximately 6 weeks after you submit your application).
As announced earlier this year, we are transferring the administration of our North American Defined Benefit pension plans from Mercer to Aon Hewitt effective October 1, 2012. From July 15th until the end of September 2012 will be a period of transition from Mercer to Aon Hewitt.
If you submit your application after July 15th for a retirement on or before October 1, 2012, you will only receive your pension package at the beginning of October. As usual, if you submit your application form less than three months before your date of retirement, you can expect delays in your first pension payment.
You can find the form ACF86 in the Air Canada Portal, under My HR > Table of Contents > HR Forms. All efforts have been made to minimize any delays during this transition
