AIR CANADA – TMOS
NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – July 8, 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Your 2019 – 2022 TMOS Negotiations Committee has concluded the ninety (90) day
period of direct bargaining with Air Canada. Unfortunately, a tentative agreement could
not be reached.
Although bargaining agendas were exchanged, the Company showed little interest in
meaningful negotiations. Cancelled dates, broken commitments and a less than casual
effort is what the TMOS Committee and TMOS Members have received in exchange
for helping Air Canada achieve and maintain record profits year after year.
Members should be disappointed with the superficial nature in which the Company
approached the ninety (90) day period. Disappointed, but not discouraged.
We now head into the mediation phase of Appendix XXXIV. Vince Ready has accepted
the parties’ invitation to act as Mediator/Arbitrator for the remainder of the process. The
first mediation dates are scheduled for July 22nd and July 23rd.
