The second reading of Local Lodge 2323’s 2015 Proposed Bylaw Amendment is to be read out at our December 01, 2015 General Membership Meeting.

Article IX – Safety and Health
Section 1. Union Representatives on the Safety and Health Committees within Local Lodge 2323 will be appointed by the Local Lodge 2323 Executive Board. Term of office will be three (3) years. Terms will commence on January 1, 2008.
Section 2. The Safety and Health Representative to the District Lodge 140 shall be recommended by the Health and Safety Committee Members of Local Lodge 2323 and appointed by the Executive and Membership of Local Lodge 2323. Term of office shall be three (3) years commencing January 1, 1998.

Article IX – Safety and Health
Section 1. (a) Union Representatives of the Safety and Health Committees within Local Lodge 2323 shall be nominated and elected by the Membership they represent for a three (3) year term commencing January 1, 2016. Nominations and voting shall take place at the Local Lodge. (b)The Executive Board shall determine the number and distribution of Union Representatives required under their jurisdiction for each Safety and Health Committee. Members governed by each group will vote for the committee members that will represent them. (c)ln the event that insufficient Union Health and Safety representatives are elected or vacancies arise between elections the Local Lodge 2323 Executive Board shall appoint the same. (d)Co-chair and/or Full-Time Coordinator representatives shall be nominated and elected by their representative members at the first meeting of the term in January for a three (3) year term. Eligible candidates shall have served a minimum of one (1) year on any of the joint Health and Safety Committees.
Section 2. The Safety and Health Representative to the District Lodge 140 shall be recommended by the Health and Safety Committee Members of Local Lodge 2323 and appointed by the Executive and Membership of Local Lodge 2323. Term of office shall be three (3) years commencing January 1, 1998.
