On June 29, 2020, Local 2323 held their first ever “Drive Thru Election” due to the current
COVID-19 pandemic.
The Election was for Local 2323 Delegates to Attend the IAMAW’s 40th Grand Lodge Convention in
San Diego, California which had been recently postponed to a later date due to the current situation.
The election was held at the Local’s Administration office where regular meetings & elections are normally held.
“The process worked out really well”, said Local 2323 President Dave Flowers.
At the first station, Members inside their vehicles were verified (ID’s/Union cards, etc.).
After that, they proceeded around the pylons in the parking lot to the second station where they received a
ballot to complete. The tellers at both stations were wearing appropriate PPE for everyone’s safety.
Then, once the Member was finished completing the ballot, the ballot box was brought out to the Member’s
vehicle, where the ballot could be placed into the box. The member then proceeded to the exit.
There was a good turnout and the results should be posted here on the Local 2323 website once the counting
is completed and a bulletin is prepared.
Watch for the results later today or early Wednesday morning.
