Negotiations Update Bulletin
April 2, 2012
Dear brothers and sisters,
Your negotiations committee met internally last week in order to prepare for the upcoming arbitration, as outlined in Bill C-33.
To prepare an argument for the arbitrator, we also met with our legal counsel to obtain an explanation of the bill and what it means for us.
We were informed that the parties must each submit a list of five arbitrators for Labour Minister Lisa Raitt to choose from. She must do so within 10 days of being notified.
Air Canada has agreed to meet with us this week, on April 3, 4 and 5, to see if there are items that can be agreed upon. This will lessen the amount of items the arbitrator must make a decision on.
We will keep you informed as we move through this process and thank you for your support and patience.
In solidarity,
Your IAMAW / TMOS Negotiations Committee
