Nominations and Election of Delegates to Attend
I.A.M.A.W. Transportation District Lodge 140
2017 Annual Convention
Toronto, Ontario October 23, 24 and 25, 2017.

Please be advised that at the February 2nd, 2017 General Monthly Membership Meeting, Local Lodge 2323 will be
accepting nominations for Delegates to the District 140 Convention. The Convention will take place in Toronto,
Ontario in October 2017.

Eligibility:

Members in attendance may accept nomination. Nominees not in attendance will be required to submit their
acceptance in writing to the Recording Secretary to be read out at the nomination meeting. They may be mailed,
faxed or handed in person to the Recording Secretary.
Members accepting nomination must have attended at least 50% of the Regular Local Lodge Meetings held during
the 12 month period ending the date of the close of nominations that their scheduled shifts, employee assignments,
vacations, verified illness, Local-District-Grand Lodge business shall allow. Proof of attendance shall consist of
signing the register by each member attending the Regular Local Lodge meetings and said register shall be in the
custody of the Recording Secretary. Members in good standing in Line Stations shall be accredited as having
attended said meetings.

Absentee Ballots as per Local Lodge Bylaws (Article IV)

Members who reside in outlying districts more than 25 miles/40km (driving distance) from the designated balloting
place, members who are either confined because of verified illness or vacation or on official IAM business, approved
by the Local Lodge, District Lodge or Grand Lodge, or on an employer travel assignment, as the case maybe, may
request an Absentee Ballot form.
Any member entitled to receive an Absentee Ballot may complete in full the 2323 Absentee Request form available
from the 2323 website (www.iamaw2323.ca) and also available in the Shop Committee Offices. The member must
forward it to the Recording Secretary via Canada Post or by handing it in, in person, to the Recording Secretary.
Absentee Ballot requests must be sent in individual envelopes. Absentee Ballot request must be received by
March 6, 2017 at the latest via Canada Post or in person to Recording Secretary.

Please don’t forget to complete the form in full including a valid union card number and your signature. If you don’t
have your union card number you can get it by calling the Local Lodge office at 905-678-0010.

At the polling station on April 04, 2017, a valid union card or a government issued picture identification must be
presented or a ballot will not be issued.
