Notice of Nominations and Elections -Local 2323

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Elections will be held December 3, 2013 for the following positions at Local 2323. The term of office for these elected positions will be from January 1, 2014 through to December 31, 2016.

These positions will be up for nomination at the Local Lodge meeting September 3, 2013.

Nominations for the following positions will be taken:

Local Lodge Executive Board Members: 

1-President

1-Vice-President

1-Secretary Treasurer

1-Recording Secretary

1-Conductor Sentinel

3-Trustees

(Term of office will be three (3) years)

Note: The positions of President & Secretary-Treasurer are full-time positions.

Local Lodge Auditors:


3 -Auditors (Term of office will be three (3) years)

Shop Committee-Airport & Cargo Operations:

2-Shop Committee Members (Full-time positions) (Term of office will be three (3) years)

Shop Committee-Technical Operations, Purchasing & Supply:


1-Shop Committee Member (Full-time position) (Term of office will be three (3) years)

Eligibility: Members in attendance may accept nomination. Nominees not in attendance will be required to submit their acceptance in writing to the Recording Secretary (via fax, mail or in person but not by e-mail) to be read out at the nomination meeting.

Members accepting nominations must have attended at least 50% of the Regular Local Lodge Meetings held during the 12-month period ending the date of the close of nominations that their scheduled shifts) employee assignments, vacations, verified illness, Local/District/Grand Lodge business shall allow.

Date of Nomination: September 3, 2013 at 2580 Drew Rd. Mississauga Ontario ….. 1900 hrs.

Date of Election: December 3, 2013 at 2580 Drew Rd. Mississauga Ontario …. 0630·2100 hrs.


Absentee Ballots: Any member entitled to receive an absentee ballot may complete in full the “2323 Absentee Request Form” (available on the 2323 website under the “about” tab and available in the Shop Committee Offices) and forward it to the Recording Secretary via Canada Post or by handing in person to the Recording Secretary.

Absentee ballot requests must be sent in individual envelopes. Absentee ballot requests must be received by Friday November 1, 2013 at the latest via mail or in person to the Recording Secretary. At the polling station, a valid union card must be presented or a ballot will not be issued.
