Retraction and Clarification on Contact Newsletter Article
printed in September 2015 Edition

October 1, 2015

As the President of Local Lodge 2323 and the authorizing publisher of our newsletter Contact, I would like to issue a retraction and clarification on an article that was published in the September 2015 edition of our newsletter.

The article in question concerned CSA Baggage shift bidding and was meant to highlight an issue that our members who work in this Classification are experiencing with their shift bid process.

It was not intended to incite or attempt to incite any form of job action by any members of Local Lodge 2323. It is unfortunate that certain statements that had been made in the article were misinterpreted by some individuals who thought that was the intent of the article.

Your Union Leadership understands the shift bidding concerns raised by the CSAs and they have been attempting to resolve this matter in the best interest of the affected membership.

For these reasons and the perceived inflammatory nature of the article, Local Lodge 2323 has removed this article from the September edition of our Contact newsletter.

I apologize for any misunderstanding or concern that this article has caused for some of our membership.

In solidarity,

Linda Mastromattei
President
