During Their Struggles
in Bargaining with Air Canada
Sisters and Brothers,
On August 27, the members of CUPE’s Air Canada component, the flight attendants, overwhelmingly voted down the proposed tentative agreement by 87.8%. By doing so, they have shown great solidarity and sent a very clear message to Air Canada.
The CUPE bargaining committee is currently in conciliation with the company and have a strike deadline of September 21.
After making concessions for over a decade to help the airline stay in business and being asked to give more, Air Canada’s flight attendants are now saying “NO MORE”. The executives of Air Canada — past and present — have taken more than their fair share.
It’s time for all Union members of this company to recoup some of what has been taken away from them.
THE IAMAW STRONGLY SUPPORTS OUR CUPE SISTERS AND BROTHERS.
THE FIGHTING MACHINISTS ARE READY, WILLING AND ABLE!
In solidarity,
Chuck Atkinson
President and Directing General Chairperson
