TO ALL AIR CANADA IAMAW MEMBERS
EMPLOYEE & FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(EFAP) UPDATE
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
First, I hope you are all keeping well throughout the turmoil of the past twenty months.
Your EFAP team remains diligent to help where we can and will assist with finding short
term counselling for our members in need.
On October 18-20, 2021, your EFAP National Committee met in Halifax, NS for the first
time in almost two years. Here are some of the decisions made during the meeting:
• EFAP recurrent training will return in 2022.
• The National EFAP Committee recognizes the importance Homewood Health has
played since adding them to the Legacy plan. Therefore, Homewood will be
available indefinitely going forward.
• With all the retirement packages, leaves of absence and layoffs, an updated list
will be submitted to Homewood December 31, 2021. From that point, only active
members will be covered by Homewood.
• As for the Legacy plan, if you are no longer on Air Canada’s benefit plans, you will
not be able to access the EFAP counselling benefit.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your Regional
Coordinator.
In solidarity,
Derrick Bashford
