LTD MEMBERS – TERMINATION
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Air Canada has or intends to conduct a deplorable act by administratively
terminating Members that are deemed to be totally disabled.
As such the IAMAW filed a group grievance on Friday, August 19, 2016. In
addition the IAMAW has retained legal counsel to represent the affected Members
and will be seeking an immediate cease and desist order through the arbitration
process until such time that the matter has been fully arbitrated.
The IAMAW believes that the Company not only has a legal obligation to these
Members but a moral obligation as well. Terminating Members while totally
disabled with illness is morally corrupt.
As more information becomes available it will be communicated to the affected
Members.
