TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS -TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT – YYZ -UPDATE – VOLUNTARY VACCINATIONS-District 140 Bulletin

TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT – YYZ
UPDATE – VOLUNTARY VACCINATIONS

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW)
representatives have been working collectively with other Union groups through the
Toronto Airport Workers’ Council (TAWC) and the Toronto Pearson Worker Health and
Safety Forum (TPWHSF) together with the GTAA and Peel Regional Health Authority
to ensure an efficient and effective vaccination roll out for airport workers who choose
to be vaccinated within our airport community.

This week the Province of Ontario has confirmed that transportation workers who are
unable to work from home will become eligible to book Covid-19 vaccine appointments
beginning on Monday, May 10, 2021. This is good news for our members and comes
after many months of our collective efforts to advocate on behalf of our airport
community.

Your Union has also learned that Air Canada, with the assistance of the province and
Peel Health Authority, has been in discussions to open a clinic for Air Canada
members. Plans for a clinic close to the airport will be announced shortly and will
serve both active and inactive Air Canada members, as well as their families.
We look forward to sharing more information with the membership, as it become
available.

In solidarity,

Dan Janssen
General Chairperson
Central Region
