TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE IAMAW
AIR CANADA-ROUGE
MEETING IN TORONTO
Dear brothers and sisters,
Your committee of representatives for the Air Canada Rouge low cost carrier met in Toronto October 16 & 17, 2013 both internally and with the company.
The smaller sub-committee met with Air Canada Rouge VP of Operations Al Reid and Air Canada Labour Relations.
We were given a presentation on the growth of rouge over the next couple of years.
By the end of 2014 Air Canada rouge expects to have 30 aircraft in their fleet with a rather extensive network of destinations.
As most of you are aware the company has made agreements with both the pilots and flight attendants which netted them savings in work rules and wages.
Our commitment is to do the best we can to protect the jobs the company is trying to shed through more cost reductions.
We will be meeting again with Air Canada Rouge again October 30 and 31st.
Over the next little while we will be reviewing our options internally for moving forward.
We will keep you informed as things unfold.
In solidarity,
Gary Sinclair,
General Chairperson,
Central Region
District Lodge 140
