TO ALL THE IAMAW MEMBERS AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Your Negotiations Committee convened in Vancouver, BC on January 8, 2023 to begin the mediation portion of the 2022 CBA opener. As prescribed in Appendix XXXXIV, there are fifteen (15) days of mediation available to obtain a tentative agreement.
Mr. Vince Ready scheduled the first session of mediation from January 9 to 12, 2023. Mediator Ready was moderately successful in pressing the company to respond to some of the Union’s proposals.
Unfortunately, the company’s proposals and responses to most of ours were not realistic. They time and time again acknowledge the problems we all face, yet steadfastly refuse to invest in the solutions.
While still early in the mediation process, the company has not given any indication that they have any genuine intent to resolve even your basic priorities. Mediator Ready will communicate with both parties sometime next week to schedule the next session of mediation.
As the dates and locations become known, we will advise the membership immediately.
