TO ALL TMOS MEMBERS OF THE IAMAW -AIR CANADA UMCM MEETING -District Bulletin #86

TO ALL TMOS MEMBERS OF THE IAMAW -AIR CANADA
UMCM MEETING

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Your Committee of General Chairpersons and a Representative from the Shop Committee met with Air Canada for our UMCM meeting in Montreal on October 2 & 3, 2013.

The meeting was somewhat productive, but did have its moments of contention. Some of the topics of discussion included:

GHO and its application,
Fit to Fly forms,
Return to work process,
Rouge and Sky Regional.

Some items will require further meetings and responses from the company.

At the meeting there were presentations from Airports and Cargo Training as well as Lise-Marie Turpin from Cargo. VP of Airports Nick Careen, was in attendance and able to field some questions as well. He is in agreement with us that we should work together on Sky Regional and Rouge.

As you know we have had an initial meeting with Rouge and are waiting for the next meeting to be scheduled to delve deeper.

As you are aware, the CEO, Mr. Rovinescu has reported we have labour stability and are cost effective moving forward.

We are in full support of having labour stability.
We are in full support of a working relationship that will enhance our members work.
We are ready willing and able to work with Air Canada to keep the Rouge work and Sky Regional work.

From a maintenance perspective, we are prepared to work with Air Canada to maintain the Rouge fleet as it grows and assist them in obtaining the maintenance work on Sky Regional.

It is well known that we are cost competitive so there should be nothing to stop us from having this working relationship which will benefit our members and the corporation.

WE CAN ALL GAIN FROM THIS!

We will keep you up to date as more information becomes available

In solidarity,

Gary Sinclair
General Chairperson, Central Region
