AIR CANADA CLERICAL BARGAINING UNIT
CAIL PAID INSURANCE BENEFITS GRIEVANCE
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Further to Bulletin No. 14 regarding the former ex-CAIL paid life insurance benefit grievance, please be advised that this grievance was filed on behalf of ex-CAIL TMOS Bargaining Unit Members as a result of Air Canada denying to fully integrate former CAIL TMOS Bargaining Unit Members into the Air Canada retirement benefit program.
This grievance did not include the Clerical Bargaining Unit as they were not affected by the Air Canada post retirement benefit issue due to the fact that the Clerical Bargaining Unit continued with their Canadian Airlines post retirement benefits during the CCAA period.
In addition, the Clerical Bargaining Unit successfully negotiated a fully integrated Air Canada Collective Agreement several years after Air Canada emerged from CCAA and Air Canada agreed to full Air Canada post retirement benefits for our Clerical Bargaining Unit Members.
In Solidarity,
Fred Hospes, President and Directing General Chairperson
