AIR CANADA RAMP, CARGO AND CABINS – YYZ SURVEY ON POTENTIAL WITHDRAWAL FROM MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT NO. 12

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Your Union is seeking your input on an important matter regarding our Collective Agreement. A survey is being conducted to determine the membership’s perspective on the option of withdrawing from Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) No. 12 which is within our rights.

As per MOA No. 12, this agreement is automatically renewed annually at all locations unless the Union provides written notice of withdrawal by November 1st, for the following calendar year. If a location withdraws, Article 10 of the Collective Agreement will then apply to that location’s bidding process. The withdrawal would take effect with the first full work schedule change of the following calendar year.

What You Gain with Withdrawal:

  • Increased Shift Bidding Input: Under Article 10, our bid committees will have greater influence and say in the creation of bids. This could give bid committee members more control over how work schedules are determined.

What You Forfeit with Withdrawal:

  • General Holidays: All eligible employees with 10 years or more of company service at the affected location will lose 3 General Holiday days for the full calendar
  • Shift Premiums: Members will also forfeit their shift premiums for the entire calendar year, for all eligible shift

We want to emphasize that this survey is solely intended to gather the views of the membership. The results will guide us in determining the direction the Union should take on this matter, but no final decision has been made at this time. Your feedback is crucial in shaping our course of action. We encourage every member to participate in the survey.

The Survey date is Monday, October 22nd, 2024 between the hours of 0630h to 2100h. The deadline to register for the survey is Sunday, October 19th, 2024 at 2359h
