Sisters and Brothers,
As per the bulletin from District 140 on the bylaw change to the negotiations process, your local will be accepting nominations for the following advisory committee’s,
- 2 – Full Time Station Attendant, 1 YYZ & 1 YOW
- 2 – Part Time Station Attendant, 1 YYZ & 1 YOW
- 2 – CSA (Customer Service Agent), 1 YYZ & 1 YOW
- 1- CSCA (Cabin Service Cleaning Attendant) YYZ
- 1- Trainer (Trainer 1 or Trainer 2) YYZ
- 1 – GSE (Ground Servicing Equipment), 1 YYZ
- 1- AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) YYZ
- 1- Logistics and Supply (Stores) YYZ
- 1- TECH OPS YYZ (Non AME, Logistics & Supply or GSE)
- 1 – Agents YYZ (LCSA/CSA Weight Balance, Gate Planners, Baggage Claim, Central Baggage)
Candidates must hold the classification to run for the advisory committee position. Nominations will close November 21st, 2024, candidates must be in good standing as per your local bylaws and the constitution to eligible 1 of the above positions. It is strongly recommended that members being nominated are able to commit an extensive time commitment and have the ability to attend training at our training facility in the Hollywood, Maryland. If you are interested in being nominated to one of the following Advisory Committee Positions email st@iamaw2323.ca with the subject title being the name of the advisory committee you are running for, and in the body of the email your name clear acceptance of being nominated for the advisory committee. Once the position is elected, the successful candidate will be representing their local including any out stations.
The election will take place online via Simply Voting, and in order to vote for your respected sub-committee nominee, you will be required to register. Registration must be completed by December 2nd, 2024, the vote will take place on December 5th , 2024, from 6am to 8pm local time. If there are any ties, we will communicate it to the membership and the runoff vote will take place on December 10t h, 2024.
Once all positions are filled, travel and time clearance will be arranged for training at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland.
We look forward to this new process and achieving a new industry leading contract for our members and their families.
