TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE IAM & AW
AVEOS SEPARATION PACKAGE
UPDATE
_____________________________________________________________________
Dear Brothers & Sisters:
Now that the Arbitrator has ruled on the amount and distribution of Separation Packages, pursuant to Appendix A of CIRB order 9996, the District would like to explain the next steps.
In the Arbitrator’s award, he stated that within two (2) weeks of this award, the Union was to prepare a list of Members that meet the eligibility to receive the Separation Package. This is a huge task and a two (2) week timeline cannot be met.
Creating and vetting these lists is not an easy task. Since there are very few Management personnel working for the Company, this is complicating the task to finalize the process. The Union has to cross-reference the transition options from the last seniority list we received from Air Canada prior to transition occurring.
Once this is done, we will have to develop a process that allows us to ensure that no one is missed and that the seniority dates, rates of pay and mailing address are all correct.
Aveos had all of this information and they no longer exist.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience while we work through this process and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
In the meantime, for more information on this matter, please refer to the last Aveos Information Update posted on our website.
