UPDATE: PREPARATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING ROUND OF BARGAINING
Brothers, Sisters and Siblings,
This bulletin provides for an update on CIRB file #038296-C and the CIRB’s decision to split the Air Canada bargaining unit. This week we submitted our appeal to the CIRB as the first step in the appeal process. The Canadian Labour Congress along with other Unions also applied for intervenor status on the file as this decision affects the entire labour movement.
We are expecting results in January 2026. Following this, we plan to appeal to the Federal Court of Appeal.
Our appeals will not impact on Collective Bargaining with Air Canada. Additionally, once we serve our notice to bargain, Air Canada has a legal obligation to engage in bargaining.
We will provide further updates as they become available.
We are stronger together, speaking with one voice; and together, in 2026, we will achieve an industry-leading Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In solidarity,
Dave Flowers
