DA / Avop Petition
There has been an overwhelming concern regarding the DA / Avop process in YYZ for those who currently require this in their work areas.
The intent of this petition is to lobby Air Canada to change their policy, the GTAA to revamp the DA process, Lobby the Canadian Government to mandate change in the entire Da / Avop process.
Some issues that members have brought forward.
With Air Canada- DA / Avop written attempts varied by departments, Termination of employment if a member cannot maintain a DA / Avop.
With GTAA- 90% passing grade, Complex English vocabulary, No multilingual options, Renewal of DA / Avop every 3 years versus other bases with different timelines renewal.
There is a grievance filed on this issue but we are still asking members to sign this petition so we can present this to the above parties. There will be copies of this petition in each Shop Committee office in the YYZ Airport.
