ORGANIZER POSITION

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
District Lodge 140 employs two (2) Organizers, respectively based in the Central Region and the Eastern Region. Currently, these positions are filled by Bro. Ian Morland in Toronto and Bro. Robert Savoie in Montréal.
Recently Bro. Morland accepted a position with the Grand Lodge Canadian office, effective November 1, 2012.
As such, we now have one (1) Organizer position open in the Central Region.
Organizers’ general duties and responsibilities are detailed under Article 13.13 (b) of District 140 Bylaws as follows:
Organizers are responsible for initiating and directing campaigns and to provide resources, training and assistance to Local Lodge Organizing Committees. They must submit regular reports to the PDGC detailing their current campaigns and strategies. Organizers will submit an annual budget to the DL 140 Executive Board for approval and are responsible to ensure that approved funds are utilized in formal organizing campaigns. They will also develop strategies and action plans to raise the profile of the IAM & AW within our communities.
The hired applicant will be required to successfully fulfill assigned duties. An organizer is paid the same wages and benefits as those of a General Chairperson.
The remainder of the term is from December 1, 2012 through to December 31, 2015. All Members wishing to be considered for this position are requested to submit an application that includes a cover letter, a resume and a letter from their Local Lodge Recording Secretary attesting that they meet eligibility requirements. Eligibility requirements are in accordance with the IAM & AW’s Constitution and Article 5.07 of our Bylaws.
