DISTRICT 140 MENTORSHIP PROGRAM UPDATE
MARCH 19, 2024
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am pleased to share an update on the Mentorship Program we recently launched at District 140.
Mentorship plays a vital role in strengthening our Union by supporting leadership development and
ensuring that knowledge and experience are passed down to the next generation of leaders. By
investing in mentorship, we are building a stronger foundation for the future of our Union.
I am proud to announce that sister Evangeline Palad, currently an Airports and Cargo Shop
Committee Member in Toronto, has been appointed by the International Office to participate in this
program as my mentee. Sister Palad brings over 8 years of Shop Committee experience which will
help her navigate the mentorship program effectively. Over the next six months, Evangeline will be
working closely with me, learning the responsibilities and functions of a General Chairperson. This
hands-on experience will give her valuable insight into the daily operations, arbitration and decision-
making processes that help guide and protect our membership.
Please join me in welcoming Evangeline to this role. I am confident that her dedication and
commitment will make a positive impact, and I look forward to seeing her grow in this position.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement in building a stronger Union
In solidarity,
Mahmoud Khatib Cell: 416-897-8140
