IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COMPANY’S

VIOLATION OF CANADA LABOUR CODE

FR DOCUMENTATION/SUBSTANTIATION REQUESTS

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It has come to our attention that the Company has been disregarding the provisions outlined in the Canada Labour Code concerning requests for documentation and substantiation for FR (Personal Leave) requests. It is imperative that we address this issue promptly as it directly impacts the rights and privileges of our members.

Under the Canada Labour Code, it is explicitly stated that a member is not obligated to provide any documentation if they are unable to obtain it. Despite this clear legal directive, the Company has chosen to ignore it, thereby infringing upon the rights of our members.

In response to this violation, we have taken decisive action by filing a National Grievance challenging the Company’s position. Our aim is to uphold the rights and protections afforded to our members under the law. We intend to pursue this grievance through arbitration to ensure that justice is served, and our members’ rights are upheld.

We are committed to keeping all members informed as this situation progresses. Updates, including important dates for arbitration proceedings, will be provided as soon as they become available.

In solidarity,
