Term of Office is January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024
Nominations will be accepted at the October 5, 2021 Meeting
with an Election to be held on December 7, 2021.
Eligibility
Members in attendance will be able to accept nomination.
Nominees not in attendance must submit a written nomination and acceptance to the Recording Secretary
of the Local Lodge prior to the Membership meeting. Nominations and acceptance of nominations should be
submitted in writing by fax (905-678-0034), in person, by Canada Post, or emailed to the Recording Secretary (rs@iamaw2323.ca).
A candidate must have been a member of an affiliated Lodge for at least six (6) months prior to
nominations. They must have attended 50% of the regular Monthly Membership meetings held by the
Lodge that their Union activities, shift assignments, vacations and verified illnesses would allow during
the previous twelve month period ending the date of close of nominations.
Absentee Ballots as per Local Lodge Bylaws (Article IV)
Members who reside in outlying districts more than 25 miles/40km (driving distance) from the
designated balloting place, members who are either confined because of verified illness or vacation or
on official IAM business, approved by the Local Lodge, District Lodge or Grand Lodge, or on an employer
travel assignment, as the case maybe, may request an absentee ballot form.
Any member entitled to receive an absentee ballot shall make a written request therefore to the
Recording Secretary of the Local Lodge by delivering in person or mailing, emailing or faxing such a
request not later than 30 days before the election.
