The YYZ Cargo department is undergoing a time of seatbelt safety infractions.
The union understands that safety is of the utmost importance, and advocates for the entire
membership to wear seatbelts when operating a tractor, forklift, or any other vehicle at our
disposal.
We are aware of the current situation and are in talks with the company in regards to the
individuals that were suspended, pending investigation.
There are concerns from the membership, about excessive discipline, and termination. This is
not the case as of now. However, if the company intends to discipline our members, we expect
them to follow protocol with respect to progressive discipline according to the CBA.
Compliance of SOP’s are mandatory.
