TO ALL IAMAW MEMBERS
AIR CANADA – TMOS
CATEGORY 38 UPDATE

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As part of the schedule agreed to earlier this year, the parties met on August 13th in
front of Arbitrator Corinn Bell to review and discuss current CAT 38 staffing levels,
particularly in the B stations.

Both sides were represented by Legal Counsel as well as representatives from District
Lodge 140 and Air Canada Labour Relations.

Unfortunately, the employer has given the Union little reason to believe they have any
intention of recalling CAT 38’s to B stations either now or in the future.

Arbitrator Bell has directed the parties to meet again next month in a final effort to
resolve the matter. If no resolution can be achieved, the grievances will proceed to
arbitration on October 19th, 2021.

The October 19th arbitration date has been agreed to by all parties and reserved with
Arbitrator Bell.

Thank you for your continued patience.

In solidarity,

Steve Prinz
General Chairperson
Western Region
