This memo is intended to clarify expectations regarding applications for promotions, transfers, department changes, and station changes.

Members are reminded that when applying for any promotion, transfer, department change, or station change, the application is considered a serious commitment. Once a member is selected for a position or station, the selection is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Under the terms of the CBA, rescinding an accepted promotion, transfer, department change, or station change is extremely difficult and, in most cases, not possible. As such, members who are selected are expected to move forward into the new position or station.

Members are strongly encouraged to carefully consider all personal, professional, and logistical factors before submitting an application. Applying without the intention to
accept and transition into the selected role or station can create operational challenges and limit opportunities for other members.

Members are encouraged to review their HR-CONNEX applications to ensure that the positions or transfers they are applying for align with their current lifestyle needs.

If members have questions or require clarification before applying, they are encouraged to seek guidance from the Shop Committee.
