END PREM AWARD – MONTHLY PREMIUMS
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
On October 29, 2018 District 140 presented several grievances before Arbitrator
Schmidt in the National hearing forum.
The grievances were based on the fact when a Member is absent from work sick,
etc. the Employer was converting monthly premiums to an hourly rate and
subsequently deducting that amount from a Members pay.
The grievances were upheld. Therefore, “monthly premiums” will not be subject
to earnings deduction.
Should you have any questions, your Shop Committee has a copy of the
aforementioned award.
