NOTICE
ATTN: ALL YYZ TECH OPS TMOS MEMBERS
Air Canada has raised a concern about notices in various places around the hangars purporting wild cat action scheduled for October 8th.
Air Canada has put District 140 on notice that these actions will not be tolerated. They have indicated that they take this action seriously and promise a severe response to anyone found to have participated in the posting of these notices and any action as a result.
The IAMAW by law must remind everyone that illegal job action is not condoned.
An award dated March 23, 2012 by Arbitrator Teplitsky states: “We live in a society governed by the rule of law. We risk losing and weakening these fundamental values when we engage deliberately in illegal conduct to advance our goals. It does not take much imagination to picture a world in which everyone with a grievance or a complaint could address it through illegal self-help. We would be living in a jungle not in a civilized democracy. I fully expect that there will be no illegal activity anywhere else in the Air Canada World.”
Please continue to work safely and follow the Company SOPs.
