To all IAMAW Members at TBH,
As you are aware, negotiations between TBH management and the IAMAW negotiating committee have come to an impasse. Even with the help of a Federal Government Mediator we were unable to reach a tentative agreement.
In order for the union to be in a legal position to strike, we need to have a strike vote. At least 67% of the members that cast a ballot must vote in favour of a strike.
Only then can we strike but no earlier than 12:01HRS, January 19, 2014.
The IAMAW does not take any strike action lightly and we are working hard to avoid such action. We are asking TBH to meet again and pursue another tentative offer. If this occurs then it will be voted on at the same time as the strike vote.
*STRIKE VOTE IS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 10, 2014*
