AIR CANADA – TECH OPS
B767 OVERTIME OPPORTUNITY

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

As you are aware, the B767 fleet is a few years past its prime and Air Canada made a business
decision to continue operating the B767 fleet as opposed to leasing or purchasing new aircraft.
This decision has created a unique opportunity for our Tech Ops Members to maintain a “get
well” maintenance program.

In order to perform and maintain this work in-house, Air Canada is seeking volunteers to work
overtime on the “get well” maintenance program. The IAMAW views this maintenance program
as a favourable opportunity for our Members and future employment growth within the Air
Canada maintenance operation throughout the system. As such, we encourage our Members
to assist in maintaining this work in-house.

The decision to voluntarily work overtime in order to maintain the B767 “get well” maintenance
program in-house is an independent choice, however, should Air Canada decide that they are
unable to support the B767 “get well” maintenance in-house, they may attempt to outsource this
work to 3rd party maintenance providers. This could be detrimental to our Members and any
future growth within the maintenance operations across the system, and no one benefits.
