TRANSITION LAYOFFS
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
On May 10, your Union met with the Company to discuss a resolution to what we believed to be an incorrect and premature layoff of some of our members.
With the assistance of mediator Bruce Light, the Company agreed to rescind those layoffs. As a result, the Company will post a GIC and issue letters to the affected individuals.
The transition process continues and we will be meeting with the Company next Tuesday, May 17, to monitor the processing of members’ selections. The purpose of this bump and layoff meeting is to start laying out the positions where members will transition to after the transition date.
We appreciate your patience despite the emotional turmoil this latest exercise has caused.
