Brothers and Sisters,
It has come to our attention that some of our members may have been dispatched to Out of Town Assignments at Canadian Stations where Air Canada employs fellow Tech Ops co-workers. We have also been advised that the YYZ membership may be asked to perform work at an overhaul location where many of our co-workers are facing decisions that will impact their livelihood and the future of our membership. Please keep this in mind when asked to perform Field and Emergency assignments at a station with IAM&AW Brothers and Sisters who are also Air Canada employees.
We have been advised that Heavy Maintenance will lay off 271 employees beginning in May and continuing in June from various categories in YVR, YWG and YUL.
