Tech Ops Shop Committee -Transition Arbitration Update

Transition Arbitration Update

Brothers and Sisters,

Of the many issues presented at yesterday’s arbitrations over unresolved transition issues, the following will be the most adverse for our membership.

• We were advised that there will be no further secondment after mid February 2012 with a few notable exceptions (NDT & Trenton).

• The Company will proceed with the layoff/bump. Notices of layoff to affected Air Canada employees who have been deemed surplus will be given letters confirming effective layoff dates.

• The Company will proceed with their critical moves. There are approximately 75 positions identified as critical within ACM.

We anticipate the Arbitrators decisions/verbiage on the discussed issues to be rendered by the end of the week.

We will communicate further information as it becomes available.

In Solidarity,

YYZ Technical Operations, Logistics and Supply Shop Committee
