A Message From The Woman’s Committee

On April 1, 2023 the Women’s Committee under Local Lodge 2323 initiated a campaign to bring awareness to our Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women. Our “No More Stolen Sisters” initiatives goal was to raise funds through selling Red IAMAW keychains. We raised $865.00 and will be presenting a cheque to the Ontario Native Women’s Association this week. Thank you to everyone who purchased and/or donated, and to our fellow members for their effort in a successful job done. Our mission reached the hearts of unionized and non- unionized individuals from family to friends and colleagues. We would like to thank our three silent donors that allowed us to be a part of the well needed change and awareness in our communities.

We do realize there has been a delay in the draw, but the new draw date will be Tuesday June 6 at our next union meeting. In a gesture of good faith, the- draw prize is now as follows.

1 gift card that covers 2 VIP Cineplex cinema tickets,
1 ‘Combo (1 regular popcorn, 2 regular drinks, 1 snack).
Total retail cost $85.

A special thank you to Karri Airhart, Francine MacNeil, Pascale Forrester, Evangeline Palad, Vick Seebalak, Mike Cooke, Mike Bell Chad Carabott, Latoya Elliot, Vern Roberts, Trista Dimonte and Pam Singh for helping during this campaign.
